MPS Summer Re-Registration for Incoming 9th Grade Students

All incoming 9th grade students from the three middle schools MUST re-register before being allowed to attend Montclair High School. Re-registration will take place at Montclair High School, 100 Chestnut Street, Montclair, NJ 07042. Specific room locations will be posted in the main lobby.

Re-registration will take place from:

July 16 through August 23, 2018, Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 8:30 am and 3:30 pm. There are no Friday hours.

Evening hours will take place from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm* on the following dates only:

Tuesday, July 17
Wednesday, July 25
Thursday, August 2
Tuesday, August 7
Wednesday, August 15

* Parents should arrive no later than 7:45 pm to complete the re-registration process during evening hours.

Parents/Guardians will be required to submit residency verification documents in accordance with the registration process of the Montclair Public Schools. See medical and residential requirements.

This process is being enacted under the district policy P-5122 in an effort to update, verify, and document the residency of all students moving from grade eight into grade nine.

Your child's initial pre-populated application form for the re-registration process will be sent home to you from your child's middle school, on June 13 & 14, 2018. Please make any corrections on the form before you come in for re-registration.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Parents must bring ALL of the required documentsfor re-registration to Montclair High School. Students will only be re-registered if all of the required documents are completed. Students will not be allowed to attend school in September 2018, until the re-registration is complete.

Please be reminded that only students of families residing in Montclair are eligible to attend the Montclair Public Schools. The Montclair School District is not a "district of choice" under the New Jersey State Legislative bill (A-355).

Individuals who falsify documents shall be subject to all applicable fines, tuition, attorney and court fees/cost, and all other fees, should non-residency be determined.

A process is in place to follow up with all parents/students who have not verified their residency through the re-registration process, which includes visitation to the current/last residence on file.

Please make arrangements now, in planning for re-registration of your 9th grade student(s).
