Message for the Montclair Public Schools Community

Greetings Montclair Public Schools Community:

In an effort to grow and learn together, as well as share invaluable resources, please see the three attached documents and an update regarding effective home/school relationships.  The attached documents include a Community Learning flyer, free tutoring (or reduced fee) opportunity and a Black History Month Learning Experience.

Community Learning flyer
Parents/Guardians/Staff are invited to learn the difference between an HIB and a conflict, explore the process used to investigate HIBs and ask any probing questions about the process. Flyer.

Free Tutoring (or reduced fee)
Parents/Guardians/Staff often ask about possible student tutoring services.  Accordingly, please review the attached opportunity.

Black History Month Learning Experience
Parents/Guardians/Staff are asked to consider a valuable learning experience being offered for Black History Month.

Effective Home/School Relationships
Please continue addressing questions, concerns and wonderings with those closest to the work. For your consideration, I ask Central Office staff to redirect community, parent and/or guardian questions and concerns back to those closest to the work.  For example, classroom questions should be directed to the teacher.  Questions relating to school operations should be directed to the principal.  Questions regarding District procedures should be directed to the appropriate District office.  Please allow staff 48 business hours to reply. Furthermore, please assume the best if there is a delayed response.  Our server system, for example, was down intermittently last week and emails were unable to be received or sent.

Contacting a School:
See the upper left corner of our District website indicating “Select a School.”  Then, select the school from the drop down menu.
