A Note from the Principal’s Desk – 11.25.2020

Dear Hillside Family and Friends,

I hope message finds you well. We know this year has been rough, but we see your strength and wish you all the best this Thanksgiving. May you enjoy the warmth of family (near and far) this season and the harvest of the feast. Happy Thanksgiving!

School-wide News:

  • The week of 11/30 is an A-Day week
  • Make A Wish has officially launched, thank you MS. BEST and all of our parents that will do amazing work for our students and families that need a little extra support this year
  • 3rd grade Aesthetic registration is open, please reference the eblast that was sent this week

The Hillside PTA would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to:

Dr. Anglin, Mr. Adamo and the entire Hillside staff for their efforts to teach and support our children during this period of remote instruction and pandemic.

All the parent volunteers for their time and talents, notably:

  • SATp volunteers, especially Jenn DiLullo and all those involved in the newly formed Social Justice committee and sub-committees
  • Dee Thompson, Shaviece Harmon, Arway Boker and Colleen Dougherty - our FaceBook page administrators for a wonderful job managing our preferred social media platform
  • Obie Miranda and all our Class Liaisons for supporting our homeroom teachers
  • Tessa Vining for bringing our school spirit gear to the community at various events locally
  • Odilia Sung for organizing the Hispanic Heritage Month activities
  • Aarti Mallya for teaching us about Diwali
  • Volunteers who helped us with distributing Read-O-Ween book bags to our students on Halloween

Lastly, we thank you, the Hillside community, for your unwavering support of all of our programming. The Hillside Cares Coat Drive was such an impressive success, we collected over 250 coats! That’s more than double our goal of 125 coats this year. A special thank you to Jodi Holmes and Justin Taylor for spearheading this effort.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and all yours. ~ The Hillside PTA

I am in awe of the work of our teachers, students and parents. In one form or another I am continuously reminded of what I am thankful for. I am humbled and honored to be the principal of this inspiring school community.

Be good to yourself and others.

Kind regards,

Samanthaa Lennon Anglin, Ed.D.
