Week 10 - 11/19/21

A Note from the Principal’s Desk - 11.19.2021

Dear Hillside Parents/Caregivers:

School-wide News...Be in the Know

Outdoor Lunch/Recess:

Please dress your child with weather appropriate clothing. Many students came to school last week with short sleeves on and no jacket. On any given day, if the Real Feel temperature outside reaches 40 degrees or below, the building administrator will look at a variety of other weather variables, such as wind, precipitation, and cloud coverage in order to determine if students will eat their lunch inside or outside for that day. Each variable individually affects whether the air will feel cooler or warmer than what the actual temperature reads. The determination will be made by 11:30am each morning.

Students will continue to go outside for recess, as long as the Real Feel temperature remains above 28 degrees.

Masks and water bottles

Please make sure your child has extra masks in their backpack and is bringing a bottle of water to school daily.

Student Arrival

Be reminded that there is no Staff Supervision on school grounds until 9AM.

School Lunch Codes

This week, students received their school lunch codes. These codes need to be entered each day for students getting school lunch. Please have your child practice memorizing this number at home so they can enter it quickly when on line for school lunch.

Note from Nurse Boyle

Hello Hillside Families and Friends! Exciting news, the Pfizer Covid vaccine has been approved for children ages 5-11. If your child has received the vaccine please send a screenshot to me at rboyle@montclair.k12.nj.us I will add them to your child’s vaccine records. Fully vaccinated students will not have to quarantine related to exposure or travel unless they are sick.  A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

If your child has medication please send it along with the medication form to me. Students must have the medication and forms at school in order to attend school trips.

If you are traveling during Thanksgiving or the  winter break please email me with the date your family will return to NJ so I can instruct you on quarantine, PCR testing dates and return to school. Have a great weekend! Nurse Boyle

Important Dates:
